Find an Eye DoctorWhere can you go with confidence in the United States to find eye doctors who are professional and customer oriented? JCPenney Optical is the place if you are looking to find an eye doctor who you can entrust your eyes too! Most Eye Doctors practicing in our Optical Departments are Optometrists. Optometrists are the primary providers of vision care in the United States, with the entire focus of their practice being your eyes! They have received special training at a college of optometry, completed an internship, and finally passed a test administered by the state board of optometry. Upon successfully passing that test, the Optometrist is then licensed by the board of optometry to practice in the state issuing their license.Optometrists routinely examine people’s eyes for vision problems such as near-sightedness, far-sightedness, and astigmatism. In addition, they test patients’ depth perception, the ability to coordinate and focus their eyes on objects at different distances. As your primary eye doctor, your Optometrist can be counted on to ensure both the health of your eyes and to ensure your visual acuity! They work closely with the opticians staffing the Optical Department on recommendations on the eyewear that will best suit your needs. At the completion of your eye examination, the doctor will issue you an eye glass or contact lens prescription and introduce you to an Optician to begin working with you on filling your eyewear needs. |
